Hyderabad Police Introduce Specialised Team for Serious Crime Investigations
By MediaFx
Hyderabad Police have introduced a specialised team dedicated to investigating serious crimes, marking a significant reform in the city's policing system. The Zonal Investigation Branch, launched on October 27, is a pilot project aimed at separating law and order duties from crime investigations. This initiative, under the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, seeks to ensure thorough and uninterrupted investigations into grave cases. The team, comprising two Detective Inspectors, one Sub-Inspector, one head constable, and 10 constables, will work closely with departments like Health, Forensic Science Laboratory, and prosecution to gather evidence and prepare charge sheets efficiently. Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar highlighted that this move will reduce the workload on local police stations, allowing them to focus more on maintaining law and order. The success of this pilot will determine the establishment of similar branches in other zones.
