Hyderabad Police have established a Zonal Investigation Branch to focus on serious and complex criminal cases, separate from routine law and order duties. The unit, inaugurated by Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar at the Golconda Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police office in Mehdipatnam, includes two Detective Inspectors, one Sub-Inspector, one Head Constable, and 10 constables. The team will handle cases within the zone, ensuring sustained attention to investigations without interference from bandobust arrangements or other routine tasks. Sajjan, as the Commissioner is known, highlighted coordination with health officials, forensic labs, and other departments to strengthen evidence-based investigations and expedite charge sheet filings. The initiative aims to reduce local police stations' workloads, allowing them to focus on crime prevention and maintaining order.
