HYDRAA Seizes 12 Fake Tankers, Dismantles 7 Illegal Borewells Near Fox Sagar

HYDRAA officials have seized 12 fake tankers and dismantled 7 illegal borewells near Fox Sagar in Jeedimetla, as part of their ongoing crackdown on unregulated water extraction. The operation, conducted on October 27, revealed that the tankers were disguised with HMWSSB stickers to appear as official Water Board vehicles. The agency also uncovered large sheds and plastic tanks used to facilitate the illegal trade. This brings the total number of borewells dismantled by HYDRAA to 38, including 25 near Sunnam Cheruvu and six near Thammidikunta. Locals expressed relief at the agency's intervention, which they believe has curbed illegal water extraction near the lakes. The action underscores HYDRAA's efforts to enforce water regulations and protect local water resources.
